Subway
The subway is daily life moving fast along a fixed line. Boarding on time and reaching your stop means work rolling along as planned, and a smooth transfer means a transition going well. Riding the wrong direction, or failing to find the exit, by contrast, signals a call to check your bearings, and being pushed aside and missing the train means the competition has worn you down.
