Why four categories feel so accurate
Write a description of character broadly enough and everyone finds a line that fits. A sentence like "usually easygoing, but sharper with the people closest to you" draws a nod whichever of the four types you attach it to. People pick up the parts that match and skim past the parts that do not, so the feeling of being described accurately is not itself evidence that the reading is accurate. Enjoy it, but do not treat that feeling as proof.
Where this idea took hold
Sorting temperament by blood type began in Japan in the early twentieth century and spread to Korea and Taiwan, and it barely registers anywhere else. Ask someone in the West their blood type on a first meeting and they will often assume you are talking about donation. If the idea came from something in human nature it would not stop at a few countries, and the fact that it does shows clearly enough that this is a custom that settled into a culture rather than a fact about people.
How to read the well-matched type
The matching type in your result is a figure of speech for the combinations that tend to sit together easily when two dispositions are set side by side. There are plenty of lasting pairs where the result says the two do not match, and what actually governs a relationship is not the type but the time two people have spent adjusting to each other. Use it as a prompt for talking about where the two of you rub against each other, not as a standard for choosing anyone.
When the description does not fit
With only four types, the people who share yours number in the millions in Korea alone. That many people cannot be gathered under one description of character, so feeling that it does not fit is the more natural outcome. Upbringing and the role you carry now weigh far more heavily on character, and the same person looks different at home and at work. If it misses, treat the reading as wrong rather than bending yourself to fit it.
Do not use it for hiring or appraisal
In Japan and Korea there have been real cases of people being screened out or spoken down to because of their blood type. Cutting down the opportunities open to someone on the basis of a grouping with no evidence behind it goes well past the bounds of a bit of fun. Be wary of the phrase "that is so typical of that type" as well. Once the conclusion is fixed in advance, only the scenes that suit it register, and seeing the person in front of you as they are gets harder rather than easier.

Why does AB read differently from the rest?
It is treated as carrying traits of both A and B, so the description holds sides that can seem contradictory.
What if I do not know my blood type?
You can find it on a blood-donation or health-check record, or have it tested at a clinic. Guessing tends to produce a reading that does not sound like you, so it is better to check first.
Is Rh-negative read separately?
No. This reading covers only the four ABO types; the Rh factor is not part of blood-type personality lore. If you are Rh-negative, simply choose your ABO type.
