Being Angry

Anger in a dream is an outlet found by feeling long held down. Letting it out fully means a blocked matter breaks open, and it was read as the herald of a relieving turn. If the target was distinct, there is a relationship you genuinely need to settle. Anger with no words coming, by contrast, means you have been enduring for a long time. None of this requires carrying the dream's anger into waking life.

Anger that surfaces in sleep has usually been waiting a long time for somewhere to go. Traditional reading did not treat dream anger as merely ill-omened; it read it as something blocked breaking through. Whether it felt clearing or unjust is the dividing line.

Readings by Situation

Letting the anger out cleanly

A good sign that something blocked opens up. Tradition read what was pressed down coming out as favourable. If you have something to say, this reads as a good time to say it.

Getting angry and still not feeling settled

A sign that something remains. It says there is a part you could not put into words. Seeing what really nags at you brings the answer closer.

Someone getting angry at you

What decides this scene is not who was shouting but whether you said anything back. If you answered, it is already settling; if you only listened, it is still there.

Holding the anger in

What you did not let out followed you into the dream. If there was one place you held back, it points at that; if there were several, read it as a stretch where holding back has already become a habit.

A dream of getting angry does not foretell a real quarrel. If you woke up lighter, something you had held down got out; if you woke uneasy, it is not settled yet. Either way it points at you, not at the other person.
