Suitcase

Packing a suitcase is a symbol of preparing for a fresh start and for change. Packing it well is a good dream of being ready for what you have set your mind on, with your circumstances about to shift for the better. A case too heavy to lift signals that you are carrying a great deal, a nudge to choose what to leave out, and an empty case is not lack but a sign that you have not decided yet. Losing the case is less about loss than the inner voice saying your resolve to leave is wavering.

A suitcase is the thing on which you choose, before leaving, what will come with you. Old dream lore read packing a bundle as setting out on a road. What you put in, and how heavy it was, is the clue that separates the readings.

Readings by Situation

Packing the case well

It is a good omen that your preparations are in order. Old readings took a well-packed bundle as a smooth road ahead. If you remember what went in, it shows plainly what you are most determined to take with you.

A case too heavy to lift

Too much has been loaded on for one pair of hands. It is a nudge to choose what to leave out, so look through what you have taken on for anything you can hand over.

Seeing an empty case

It marks a decision not yet made. The bag was empty, not missing, so the will to leave is settled and only the choosing remains. Taking time over that is no bad sign.

Losing the case

It is the sound of a wavering resolve to leave. Notice that what you lost was the bag, not the road. If the dream went on to you packing again, read it instead as a mind made up.

A suitcase dream foretells no real move or trip, and losing luggage does not mean a loss has been settled. Being ready is the core symbol, so read it as a picture of the change you are standing before.
